The world is your taco, fill it with what you want!
Hey hey! I’m Mary. Over the course of life I have asked myself many times – What am I filling my world with – what do I really enjoy in my taco! For many of us life experiences impact our range of possibilities to chose. What gets in your way of enjoyment? Anxiety, Relationship conflicts, Depression, PTSD, Lack of connection, Trauma? As a pre-licensed Marriage and Family therapist, it is my passion to help clients understand how their family, community, and lived experiences impact their mental health and wholeness with an emphasis on healing trauma.
I believe that our family and the systems we come from shape our understanding of ourselves and at times bring anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief making it challenging to function well. My focus as a therapist lies in exploring our deep seeded trauma roots, and how we start to untangle those roots to function better. As we grow in awareness of these systems and untangling these roots we are able to identify and embrace our best fit within this world. My personal and professional histories are rooted within areas of substance abuse disorder, LGBTQA communities, and trauma. I look forward to helping guide you with integrity, compassion and empathy to a world filled with all of the best ingredients that lead to long term healing. I have a Masters of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Saint Mary’s University. I have advanced training in narrative exposure therapy which informs my understanding of the complexities of individual, family, and generational trauma. Additionally, I have advanced training in Theraplay, a modality I used to help children and parents repair relationships focused on attachment.
