Do you feel at odds with who you are expected to be and who you want to be? Does the world around you make you feel stuck? Do you feel unable to express or experience your true feelings?
When outside forces in our lives inhibit our authentic selves, whether societal, cultural, or relational, we can experience dissonance between life as it is and life as we want it to be. This can lead to anxiety, hopelessness, trauma, and unhelpful coping behaviors. Through trust, acceptance, and empathy, my goal is to provide you with a space to explore what authenticity looks like for you and how you can embrace it in your everyday life. I use a person-centered, and emotion-focused approach to help you process and experience a wide range of emotions safely and without judgment, informed by principles from existential, experiential, and relational therapies.
I specialize in working with clients with eating disorders and body image concerns, especially with people with larger bodies who want to process the harms of fatphobia and diet culture through an intersectional, body liberationist approach. Depending on your goals, this can include Health at Every Size values, intuitive eating, and an anti-diet lens.
My undergraduate degree is in music performance, so I also enjoy working with clients in various performing arts fields. I am currently working on my Master’s degree in Counseling and Psychological Services at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. In my spare time, I enjoy playing trivia games with friends, knitting, and listening to music.
