Oftentimes we are taught that expressing our worries is a sign of weakness. I believe that It takes strength and courage to start counseling and I hope to create a calm, non judgmental environment which allows you to express all parts of yourself. My goal is to cultivate a compassionate and collaborative relationship where people from all backgrounds can come to feel seen and heard. I use a person-centered and narrative approach in a caring and playful manner.
My specialties include children, adolescents, adults, anxiety, depression, trauma, men’s counseling, life transitions, identity and self-esteem. I have experience using Drama Therapy with elementary aged children, which is a form of imaginative play therapy that can help target areas of trauma.
I received my masters degree from the University of San Diego and completed my practicum year with an organization that provides counseling to the Native population in Southern California. I have experience working in schools in the US and abroad. I have also spent considerable time with adults and children in mental health programs in the Twin Cities. I have had the opportunity to learn from, and work with many different types of people and I would be honored to be a part of your growth!
