Hi, I’m Faiza! I’m a pre-licensed therapist with a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota. I’m passionate about holding space for people who may not always feel heard—especially those from underserved or marginalized communities.
My journey in the mental health field has been shaped by a wide range of experiences. I’ve worked with adolescents in a juvenile detention center, supported children with autism between the ages of 2–10, and served the Somali community as a case manager. These roles taught me the importance of seeing the whole person—their story, their struggles, and their strengths.
I take a person-centered and psychodynamic approach to therapy. That means I believe healing happens when we feel truly understood and involved in our own growth. I meet people where they are, adapt my approach to fit their needs, and bring honesty and compassion into each session. I see therapy as a partnership—and I want clients to feel they’re walking beside someone who genuinely cares.
Some areas I’m especially drawn to include anxiety, trauma, identity exploration, and life transitions. I’ve also developed a deep interest in multicultural counseling and addiction work, and I continue to grow in these areas.
At my core, I believe in the power of human connection. I love being part of someone’s journey—witnessing their resilience, helping them navigate pain, and celebrating moments of self-discovery along the way.
