Navigating life can be challenging, and we all can use some extra support along the way. Whether you’re seeking support due to ongoing mental health concerns, interpersonal relationships, or to process current life events, it’s all-important! I believe that therapy provides an opportunity for folks to help discover who they are, who they want to be, and what their purpose in life is. Our lived experiences shape who we are and how we behave, but it doesn’t have to define us. Through self-exploration, we can learn to be the best version of ourselves and simultaneously recognize our flaws are not our failings.
In my practice, I aim to help clients discover their values, purpose, and self-worth using tenets from mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy (MCBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). I intertwine mindful self-compassion (MSC) aspects into sessions to help foster a sense of self-love and authenticity within the individual. I recognize that these modalities are not a “one size fits all” approach and consider myself eclectic and will incorporate other theories and principles dependent on the client and their preferences. My style is collaborative, and I want to ensure each client feels heard, validated, and supported, and we get to work together to do that.
I grew up in Wisconsin, and while I love returning to visit friends and family, I have called Minneapolis ‘home’ for several years now. I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Minnesota. I took a couple of years off and worked with teens and young adults experiencing co-occurring disorders. I returned to school and received my MSW at the University of Minnesota. When I’m not working, I am spending time being creative (artwork, photography,) tending to my many houseplants, going for walks/hikes, or cuddling up with my cat! I look forward to getting to know you and watching you flourish in your growth!
