You are doing the best you can, with what you have and what you know. As humans we behave in a way that we believe best serves us in the moment. If your way of life is no longer serving you, or you would like to create more awareness so you can do better than what you have been doing, congratulations on taking this step towards self-discovery.
I have experience working with adolescents and adults in various areas of life transitions, changes and challenges. I focus on the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my practices, and believe in Person Centered therapeutic approaches. Being a licensed Alcohol and Drug counselor, I have experience working with individuals who utilizes substances to cope with the ups and downs of life, many have made the decision to choose a life of recovery from addiction. I am also certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy, in order to better process past trauma, as well as common anxiety and depressive symptoms. Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) allows you to re-write your past stories through sets of eye movements, although you will keep the facts of your trauma, it will erase the pain you associate with it.
I am fluent in Chinese, and is able to provide therapy services in Mandarin, English, or a combination of both. As a person of color, I have a passion of working with individuals who are interested in finding their place in the world as part of a minority community member. I want to help you be confident in your identity, my hope for everyone is that once you know your true worth, nothing and no one will be able to make you feel otherwise.
Having me as your therapist, I can promise you encouragement, unconditional positive regards, but at the same time I will ensure to challenge you to do the hard work. Together, let’s learn more, know more, so our best becomes better.
