“Sometimes your path won’t make sense, but I hope to see you flourish either way” – Duduzile Noeleen Ngwenya
Hi! I am Victoria (She/Her/Hers) and I am a Licensed Graduate Social Worker. I work with couples, teens (15+), and adults of all ages, intersectionality’s, races, and ethnicities.
Our paths in life are often long winding roads filled with challenges and successes. My goal in therapy is to help you make the most of your journey and provide a safe and secure space for you to heal, adapt, and grow from the challenges you have experienced and celebrate the successes you achieve. I aim to create a space filled with empathy, trust, and compassion where you feel heard and respected so that we can develop together a plan of action and skills to help you overcome life’s challenges.
I use a client-centered, multicultural, multidisciplinary, holistic approach to therapy that is informed by CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), IFS (Internal Family Systems), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), trauma-informed therapy, strengths-based therapy, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing.
I have a background in women, gender, sexuality studies and a focus on trauma, domestic violence, and sexual assault/gender based violence. I specialize in working with clients that experience low sexual desire/mismatched couple desire, physical or emotional sexual pain, problematic sexual behaviors (“sex addiction”) or maladaptive sexual behaviors, erectile dysfunction/premature or delayed ejaculation, orgasm difficulties, a desire to explore your sexuality or sexual self, sexual shame, and decreased sexual and relationship satisfaction.
I recognize sex is a very sensitive and personal subject and oftentimes we aren’t taught how to talk about sex and that communicating about sexual issues and concerns can feel embarrassing, anxiety provoking, or even shameful. I want you to know that I am here for you and have an interest in talking with you about your concerns. I work with couples and individuals to better understand, resolve, and explore their concerns to achieve greater sexual satisfaction.
Other common issues I address in therapy include: adjustment to life changes, coping with grief/loss, mental health issues within family systems, anxiety/stress, depression/mood changes, self-confidence, relationship conflicts, binge eating/bulimia, and self-development/growth.
I commend you on taking this first big step to create change and healing in your life and would be honored to join you on this journey!
