Welcome! Thank you for beginning your therapeutic journey. Life has many unexpected experiences that challenge us from moving forward in our own stories and leave us in a place of feeling stuck. In therapy, I will work to provide a safe, tranquil, supportive, and regulating atmosphere, where we can try new perspectives and address barriers to support your growth and empowerment.
My approach to therapy is focused on meeting you where you are currently at in your story and building a trusting collaborative relationship. I want to know your perspective, your challenges, and where you want to take your story in the future. From there, we will together create an individualized approach that will support your goals and challenge any barriers so you can reach your ideal ending to the chapter, as well as lay the foundation for the upcoming chapters in your life. My primary areas of clinical focus include Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Depression, Anxiety, Trauma, Grief, and Life Transitions. In terms of trauma therapy, I am currently pursuing certification in Cognitive Processing Therapy and have been clinically trained in Written Exposure Therapy. Additionally, I have completed trainings for ADHD certified providers, polyvagal therapy, somatic experiencing, acceptance and commitment therapy, and play therapy.
I have experience working with a diverse population including in-home and private practice, individual therapy, and assessment focused treatments. I work with individuals across the lifespan but I especially enjoy working with children, adolescents, and young adults. Working with kids, I take a collaborative approach within the family to help guide your child to feel empowered and confident in their skills as they navigate any stressors. I work with them to build foundational skills they can utilize throughout their life through a variety of techniques including play therapy, polyvagal therapy, somatic experiencing, and traditional talk therapy. When working with adults, I want to help instill a sense of hope and confidence. Life throws us curveballs, and I want to be there to help you feel supported and empowered.
In my free time, I really enjoy spending time with my family whether it is being outdoors in nature, watching sports (primarily hockey), engaging in crafts, or chilling and watching a movie. You can also find me playing video games, reading, and playing with my many pet rodents.
