I believe everyone has a backpack, filled with identities, beliefs, and histories that shape the way we move through the world. Our backpacks are made up of all kinds of things – things like experiences we had growing up, our likes and dislikes, stories we were told about ourselves, things we feel proud of, and things we struggle with. For some of us, carrying our backpacks might feel light and relaxed. For others, our backpacks might feel heavy, uncomfortable, and difficult to carry. No matter what you carry with you, it can be valuable to share the load sometimes. As your therapist, I would be honored to help you carry your backpack!
With my clients, I use an affirming approach, integrating evidence-based therapy modalities to support treatment goals. I work with diverse adults (age 18+), to address mental health and identity-related concerns, such as depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, trauma, and significant life transitions. I also have advanced training in perinatal mental health treatment (including peripartum mood disorders and anxiety/OCD, birth trauma, and postpartum psychosis) and identity- and gender-affirming care. It would be an honor to work with you!
