“Sometimes your path won’t make sense, but I hope to see you flourish either way” – Duduzile Noeleen Ngwenya
Our paths in life are often long winding roads filled with challenges and successes. My goal in therapy is to help you make the most of your journey and provide a safe and secure space for you to heal, adapt, and grow from the challenges you have experienced and celebrate the successes you have achieved. I aim to create a space filled with empathy, trust, and compassion where you feel heard and respected so that we can develop together a plan of action and skills to help you overcome life’s challenges. I use a client-centered approach to therapy, informed by CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), trauma-informed therapy, strengths-based therapy, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing. I work with young adults (18+) and adults of all ages, intersectionalities, races, and ethnicities. I have a background in women, gender, sexuality studies and a focus on trauma, domestic violence, and sexual assault/gender based violence. Other common issues I address in therapy include: adjustment to life changes, coping with grief/loss, mental health issues within family systems, anxiety/stress, depression/mood changes, self confidence, and relationship conflicts. I commend you on taking this first big step to create change and healing in your life and would love to join you on this journey!
