A famous artist once said, “just when every day seemed to greet me with a smile, sunspots faded and now I am doing time because I fell on black days.” No matter where you are in life it can be a journey filled with wonderful moments as well as hard times. In that journey, you may find that you are feeling stuck in those dark times, and I want to give you an invitation to explore what therapy might be able to do to help yourself through it.
My role as a therapist is to provide a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for you to explore yourself. I find that we are often not in tune with ourselves and where our thoughts, feelings, and behavior come from. I am eclectic in my therapy approach using Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and mindfulness as a foundation. I like to ask thoughtful questions, listen to both verbal and nonverbal communication, and enjoy processing thoughts and feelings that come up throughout the therapy process. When I provide psychoeducation, I like to do it in a way that is easy to understand and apply to life.
I received my Master’s Degree in Community Mental Health Counseling from the University of Wisconsin Stout and have over 13 years of clinical experience working with children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples. I am experienced working with a diverse range of mental health and substance use concerns within multidisciplinary teams and have a passion for working with individuals who suffer from trauma and anxiety.
