Wren Hernandez

Hello and welcome to CARE. My name is Wren and, in my work with clients, I take a holistic approach, ensuring that I consider each individual’s unique family experiences, belief systems, values, environmental context, and symptom presentation.

From my perspective, humans are complex beings on a quest for success within their environments, constantly seeking and creating meaning in their experiences. Therapy is a unique journey for each client, involving the intricate process of evaluating emotions, thoughts, and experiences. The ultimate goal varies for each client and can include processing grief, fostering self-acceptance, improving communication skills, and nurturing self-compassion.

My experiences at CARE and past roles at Open Door Health Center and Eunoia Family Resource Center have equipped me to assist individuals with a variety of concerns, such as anxiety, depression, agoraphobia, negative self-talk, low self-esteem, and relationship concerns. A particular passion of mine is working with individuals with OCD. I’ve had the privilege of working with all age groups, including children, teens, and adults. It’s been especially rewarding to guide young adults through the transitions that come with this phase of life.

Drawing from a diverse toolkit that includes Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy, I tailor my approach to meet the unique needs of each individual.

Outside of work, I enjoy a variety of activities, including hiking, puzzles, art, and spending time with my friends and family. Additionally, I have two cats named Ernie and Zork.
