This life moves quickly, often holding an array of hardships and heartbreaks along the way. Every person holds inherent value, deserving to be seen, listened to, and understood. I believe that providing a space to slow down, connect, process, and heal is essential for anyone’s growth.
As a counselor, I operate from a client-centered, strengths-based approach. I seek to have a collaborative relationship with each individual, working to highlight their strengths and potential, build skills, and get to the root of the issue. My approach often includes interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and a Psychodynamic lens. I have experience working with adolescents and adults, commonly working with issues such as interpersonal difficulties, exploration of self, anxiety, and past trauma. I also have experience working in the foster care and adoption spaces.
No matter a person’s age or context, I love working to provide both helpful, practical information and skills for the present, while also creating a safe space to explore how family of origin and past experiences have impacted current difficulties, attachment, or overall functioning. I am passionate about working with each person to find peace of both body and mind.
This life can be hard. But it can also be beautiful. And it is one of my greatest privileges to sit with another person as they experience all of it.
