Therapy can be daunting, but my role is to help you through it. I believe that we know ourselves better than anyone else which is why I use a client-centered approach. This means that you are in control of our sessions, and I will be there to guide you through it by providing a safe space. I see clients from a variety of different backgrounds, 12 years old and older. I have experience working with clients with anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, self harm and am open to seeing clients with all different needs. In addition to using a client centered approach, I focus on talk therapy such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing (MI).
What drew me to counseling was the stigma surrounding mental health and mental illness, especially in the Latino community. Growing up with immigrant parents and as an immigrant myself, I saw the need for mental health services and validation in my community. I want to be a part of erasing the stigma and getting people the help that they need. I am fluent in Spanish and able to provide services in Spanish, English, or both. I graduated with my B.A. in Psychology from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities in 2020. I am currently in my Master’s program for Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University and on track to become an LPCC.
