The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” -Carl Rogers
Welcome! Seeking healing and growth through therapy takes courage and self-awareness, I am so glad you are ready to start the journey! As a therapist, I strive to empower clients to honor and accept themselves and their experiences and in doing so nurture confidence in their resilience, strength, and ability to continue growing and achieving their goals. I prioritize building a safe, compassionate, and honest therapeutic environment and select from clinical modalities and interventions based on mutually identified goals.
My practice is person-centered and strengths-based; drawing from attachment, lifespan development, and person in systems theory. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy informed practice. I also incorporate use of mindfulness practice, art, music, play based sharing, and occasionally cringe-worthy humor based on individual needs and goals.
I have experience working with children, families, and adults addressing concerns such as Traumatic Stressors, Grief and Loss, Mood Disorders like Depression and Anxiety, Transitional Stressors, Family Change, Behavioral Concerns, and Relational/Communication Challenges. Outside of therapy I enjoy time in nature, connecting with friends and family, reading fantasy novels, and exploring this wild world!
