Hello and welcome! My therapy approach values establishing a therapeutic environment that encourages curiosity, connection, and compassion.
I work with children (starting at the age of 8) and adults. I am passionate about incorporating modalities into my therapy practice that address both bottom-up (somatic/body-based therapies) and top-down (traditional talk therapy like cognitive behavioral therapy) approaches. There is nothing more rewarding than witnessing the “Aha!” moments that clients experience after learning about the different ways our bodies, minds, and nervous systems impact our overall well-being. Using the nervous system as a tool in psychotherapy is a game changer!
Some of the therapeutic modalities that have informed my practice include the following: experiential play therapy, polyvagal theory, somatic therapy, internal family systems, mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy, and trauma-informed therapy. I am passionate about staying up to date in the latest research pertaining to neuroscience, trauma-informed care, holistic wellness, and interventions that promote the mind-body connection.
In my free time, I enjoy prioritizing my own self-care by practicing yoga, going for walks in nature, listening to live music, plopping down at a cozy coffee shop, and spending time with family, friends, and fur babies.
