Hello! I’m glad you’re here. Life can be challenging. We can get stuck. And we can also take steps to connect, heal from these challenges, and continue forward better than ever. My job as your therapist is to meet with you and find out what’s been happening. And then talk about what matters to you, and together define goals for your therapy. My experience includes co-occurring disorders, substance use and mental health, as well as depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, Gifted and neurodivergent, adjustment to life transitions, relational distress, mood disorders, grief/loss, and ambiguous loss.
My approach is person-centered, meaning that you are seen as an authentic, worthy human being. I use a solution-focused approach, meaning that we explore challenges and obstacles you are facing. Solutions may include multiple, integrated approaches, and then beginning steps to move forward—with healing and resiliency. I am gently directive, authentic, and engaged with you, where you supported. I use additional approaches, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Brief, Solution-Focused Therapy (B-SFT), Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET), Cognitive Recovery Therapy (CRT), DBT, REBT, and Mindfulness. My previous career in higher education also informs my therapy practice, including learning styles, neurodiverse processing, cognitive recovery, success strategies, and practices to initiate and sustain change.
My personal and professional experience includes cultural diversity—global, social, economic, age, race, ethnicity, gender, and cognitive diversity. Outside of therapy, I love to spend time with my family and friends. I enjoy reading, movies, travelling, and riding my bicycle.
