If you’re reading this, you’re probably interested in beginning therapy. If starting therapy with a new clinician feels a little bit daunting, that’s alright! I recognize the courage and vulnerability it took for you to get to this step. Life and all its stressors can be difficult to manage sometimes, and having positive support can make a huge difference for our mental health. I believe that everyone deserves to have a safe space where they can openly share their story, regardless of their various identities, background, or personal experiences. I utilize a collaborative approach with clients, meaning I want to meet you where you are right now and work towards your therapy goals together.
Whether you are experiencing difficulties adjusting to a change in your life, experiencing feelings of low self-worth, or having trouble managing mental health symptoms, I hope to provide you with personalized, non-judgmental care. I primarily utilize a person-centered, feminist and multicultural theory-based therapeutic approach. Additionally, I draw from acceptance and commitment therapy and cognitive-behavioral therapy in my therapeutic practice. I have a special interest in working with women, LGBTQIA folks, and individuals experiencing anxiety.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in philosophy and psychology from St. Catherine University, and my master’s degree in counseling psychology from the University of St. Thomas. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and have experience working with a variety of client populations. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outside, watching women’s volleyball and soccer, baking, and watching reality TV or documentaries.
