“It’s when we start working together that real healing takes place.” – David Hume
I truly view the therapeutic process as a team effort to help reach goals, heal, and learn new things; and I believe that one of the most important parts of therapy is finding someone that you connect and feel safe with. As a therapist I attempt to meet clients where they are at through utilizing a strengths-based, person-centered approach and seek to create a space for clients that is free from judgement and full of empathy. In our work together you can expect a combination of therapeutic approaches drawing from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy techniques, Motivational interviewing, Relational Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, and Values work.
I received my master’s in social work from Minnesota State University, Mankato; and I have experience working in many different settings such as home and community based mental health services, school-linked mental health services, domestic violence perpetrator programming, and in the hospital setting. I have come to love working with both children and adults, and have experience working with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, autism spectrum disorder, depression, and anxiety.
My personal interests consist of spending time with family and friends, trying new foods, playing Nintendo Switch, listening to music and bird watching. I think humor is a natural healer, so I can often also be found attempting to crack a joke or two.
