“Therapy is a gift. It is a chance to finally be heard, understood and supported”
-Bessel van der Kolk
This quote speaks to what I believe is the essence of therapy. I strive to create a safe space that allows for one to be themselves without judgement. People describe me to be down to earth and feel understood.
My passion is working with people who have experienced trauma and adverse experiences in their lives. I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). In addition, I have training in art-based interventions and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (level 1). I also have experience working with people who are experiencing depression and anxiety. I work with people age 13 and above.
I have been a therapist for over 25 years. I received a Master of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota- Duluth. In 1997, I became licensed as a Master level psychologist.
