Hey there! My name is Aryanna, and I want to welcome you to and on your pathway of healing! A quote that really sticks out to me is “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are” by Theodore Roosevelt; Starting where you are with what you have is the absolutely best place to begin your healing journey. I believe in a client-centered, strengths-based approach to working with people as you are the expert in your own life, and I would be honored to be a support along this current chapter in the book that is your life. My goal for our journey together is that you feel safe, supported, and heard in a judgement-free space.
My passion lies in working with individuals 12 years and older who may be struggling with addiction/substance use, depression, anxiety, life transitions, identity, and trauma. I typically approach therapy with a mix and match of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), trauma-informed care, solution-focused therapy, and psychodynamic therapy. One size does not fit all when it comes to therapy, so I make sure our work together is unique to you; I always welcome feedback and insight to what does or does not work well for you, or what you may be interested in!
Prior to being part of the CARE Counseling family, my experience has been working with individuals and groups that struggle with substance use. I have worked in residential, intensive outpatient, county-based outpatient (in-home, in community, and in office), and relapse prevention settings. Through these life-changing opportunities, I noticed there was a gap for people that could assist with both substance use and addiction, thus I had to refer out a lot. This led to my passion to be able to do both at once, and that was what led to me becoming an LGSW (licensed graduate social worker) and an LADC (licensed alcohol and drug counselor).
When I’m not at CARE, I am very much a homebody. So, this looks like cuddling my dog and watching movies, playing board games, or playing video games with my fiancé. Some fun facts about me are that giraffes are my favorite animal, I’m originally from Wisconsin (Yes – I’m a Packers fan), and I have been a vegetarian for 21 years. I look forward to getting to know you!
