I’m dedicated to providing a safe therapeutic space for all my clients to engage in exploration and self-discovery. My goal is to help you develop a secure sense of self through use of collaborative, interpersonal, process-oriented, and emotion-centered approaches. I’m trained in applying a systemic approach to therapy, meaning that I am considerate of how cultural context, family relationships, and environmental factors impact someone’s emotional well-being.
I resonate with the philosophies found in Narrative, Internal Family Systems (a.k.a Parts-Work), Gestalt, and Adlerian therapy styles because they emphasize leaning on curiosity, empowerment, compassion, and grounded presence to experience relief. I believe that by processing emotions we can uncover the important messages hidden within them; which is key in learning to trust our intuition and build confidence in expressing our needs. I also enjoy integrating mind-body exercises into my work to help you further understand how your nervous system responds to an emotion and to achieve a grounded connection with your body.
Common themes of focus I work with include attachment/relationship stressors and traumas, religious/spiritual trauma or deconstruction, grief and ambiguous loss, pregnancy/fertility, gender and sexuality, life transitions, and complex family dynamics. I also have experience helping those with anxiety disorders, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, post-partum depression, chronic illness, and Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
In Couples therapy, my goal is to assist you in improving your connection with your partner by providing the space for you to process emotions together and improve your abilities to validate each other’s experiences. I apply an attachment-informed lens to couples therapy, meaning that I will assist you in identifying, understanding, and responding to the attachment needs present in your relationship. I have worked with couples across a variety of relationship types/stages. I also have experience working with couples practicing ethical non-monogamy and polyamory.
