Welcome! If you’re feeling nervous as you’re thinking about starting this therapy journey, please know that this is a typical and expected experience. I am excited to meet you and work at a pace comfortable for you.
In my therapy office, you can expect me to be an empathic listener who is genuinely interested in your life. I find it important to provide you with psychoeducation, giving you the tools and empowerment to make sense of your own experiences. You can also expect me to help you build emotional and somatic awareness. I believe we must identify and name our emotions in order to respond in the most helpful way. I take a person-centered approach, meeting you where you’re at. Additionally, I draw from theories such as psychodynamic, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).
I have experience working with adolescents and adults, including individuals, couples, and families. My passion areas include mental health challenges such as trauma, anxiety, family issues, and maladaptive coping mechanisms (examples: substance use, risky behaviors, avoidance/procrastination).
When not in the office, I enjoy going for walks outside, socializing with friends, sipping on a cup of coffee, and hanging out with my pet cat.
Whether it be exploring how past experiences have shaped us, focusing on ways to cope with present day stressors, or a mix of both, I’m excited to walk alongside you on your journey.
