Abigail Rech

I am a pre-licensed therapist with a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from the University of St. Thomas working towards my LAMFT.

My therapeutic lens is systemic and holistic. I am influenced by Narrative Therapy and IFS Therapy, and I also consider my practice to be emotion centered and humanistic. As a clinician, I am respectful of the context that you are bringing into session, and I believe in your strengths and capabilities as they are unique to you. Our therapy together will be a process of growth, learning, healing, and discovery.

My practice is kink-affirming, sex-positive, empowering, and collaborative. I am welcoming of all relationship dynamics, including polyamory/non-monogamy, and I have interest in areas including sex/sexuality, gender, transition, intergenerational trauma, religious/spiritual trauma and deconstruction, grief and ambiguous loss, intimacy, pregnancy and fertility, and also parenting/co-parenting concerns.

In my free time, you will find me tending to my many houseplants, attending local concerts/shows, refining my playlists, and making memories with my loved ones. Before becoming a therapist, I gained 4 years of experience working as a tutor teaching English, Reading, and Writing to children, adolescents, and adults. The work I did in the academic environment taught me the importance of authentic and honest relationships as a catalyst to achieve goals and overcome obstacles. This experience encouraged the development of my strengths-based approach to therapy and my love for storytelling.
