LADC
Greetings! I’m Lowra (Laura), embracing the Welsh spelling of my name. As a Cis-gender woman, my journey in the field of mental health is rooted in the belief that the most profound knowledge one can possess is self-awareness—a sentiment beautifully captured by the Welsh Proverb, “The best knowledge is to know yourself.”
I hold a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Minnesota State University Mankato and am a licensed alcohol and drug counselor dedicated to facilitating healing and growth. My pronouns are she/her, and I approach my work with a person-centered philosophy, valuing collaboration and tailored approaches for each unique individual.
My professional experience extends to substance use disorders, anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, life transitions, and grief and loss. Certified in motivational interviewing, I aim to be a guide on your healing journey, offering support, knowledge, and a spectrum of options. I find immense joy in working with both teens and adults, fostering therapeutic alliances that empower clients to navigate their unique situations.
As your guide on the path to healing, I provide not only support but also knowledge and a range of options to empower your journey. Beyond the office, you will find me immersed in the pages of a good book, engaged in strategic battles over a board game, or savoring moments with my family. I am an avid traveler who loves exploring new places and trying out different cuisines. Life is a journey, and I am here to help you navigate and discover the paths to your best self.
