Life’s journey can often feel like navigating complex and unfamiliar terrain, fraught with twists and turns, unexpected detours, and unforeseen obstacles. It’s okay and very normal to feel overwhelmed with the journey. Seeking out support when needed can be both extremely difficult and incredibly rewarding as you seek to find your own path in the journey of life. My goal as a therapist is to provide you with a safe and compassionate space that can be used to create the changes you want to see in yourself. I use a person-centered approach to therapy which means that I believe that every person has the innate capacity for self-discovery and growth. In my work, I seek to provide you with the tools necessary to engage in that process and discover your own values, identity, and meanings. In finding these tools, I often pull from evidence-based practices such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy. My role is to help you identify what you seek to change and provide you with the tools and space needed to create that change. I work with adults (18+) of many different presenting concerns, but particularly enjoy working with concerns of anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, life transitions, eating disorders/disordered eating, body image, emotional regulation, emotional intelligence, self-acceptance, self-confidence, trauma, identity, stress management, and grief.
I graduated with my Master of Social Work from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. I grew up in Minnesota and in my free time I mostly enjoy spending time with my several housecats, reading a good book, and going for walks around the local nature centers. I believe that authentic human (and non-human) connection is one of the most rewarding things in life and I am passionate about the work I do. I look forward to meeting you and walking with you on this journey.
