I believe that our relationships with others are an essential component of the human experience. We all exist within various systems, whether that is within friendships, romantic relationships, family relationships, or relationships within a school or workplace. These relational systems tend to be transactional, in the sense that we impact and are impacted by those that are in relation to us.
As a Marriage and Family therapist, I work with individuals, couples, and families in order to create not only individual change, but also systemic and relational change. Similarly, I believe that the foundation of therapeutic change is a strong therapeutic relationship between the client and therapist. In my work with clients, I strive to create a safe, compassionate, empathetic, and non-judgmental space for clients to be able to achieve their own personal goals for optimal healing.
I have a significant amount of clinical experience treating the following concerns: anxiety, depression, body image concerns, self-esteem issues, grief and loss, couple and family conflict/communication issues, infidelity, life transitions, and traumatic experiences. I have completed formal training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I am also a trained Prepare Enrich facilitator for premarital couples.
I also am a very collaborative therapist, meaning that I believe that the client is the expert in their own life and the focus of therapy should be tailored to each individual client and their goals. I strive to walk alongside my clients by providing therapeutic tools and validation in order to help them achieve their personal goals and the most fulfilling life possible.
