You might have noticed what isn’t working, and you may have even tried to make the changes you are wanting to see in your life. It just isn’t feeling like enough. You are not alone! Our thoughts, emotions, and responses tell a story and give us a roadmap to help us reach the goals we want to achieve. We just need to slow down enough to listen. In a world that moves so fast, this is not an easy task. Walking alongside you as you slow down and discover your next steps is an honor I do not take lightly.
Everyone’s journey and story is different, and I trust that you are the expert in yours. In sessions, I hope to work together to create a space in which you feel safe to explore, learn, and practice ways of being that may feel new and unfamiliar. Maybe you are used to a life that jumps from one moment of chaos to the next. You may feel stuck in habits or routines that feel necessary but overwhelming. Or perhaps you experience internal messages about your body or food that leave you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, and hopeless. Maybe you have lost a relationship, experienced a life-altering diagnosis, lost a dream, or experienced a major life change. Whatever is feeling out of balance, you do not have to feel it alone!
Professionally, I have spent time in day treatment, outpatient, long-term care, and nonprofit settings, working with individuals across the lifespan. I currently work with individuals ages 6+ and enjoy supporting clients through a variety of different experiences. I have completed training in inference-based cognitive behavioral therapy (I-CBT) and exposure and response prevention (ExRP) for OCD, and I have previous experience working with individuals who have experienced trauma as well as those impacted by foster care or adoption. I also enjoy supporting those navigating grief, substance use and recovery, body image and eating concerns, relationship difficulties, mood concerns, life transitions, self-exploration, and self-esteem.
I recognize the therapeutic relationship as the foundation for much of the therapeutic process. I believe empathy, honesty, and openness are key to this important relationship. In session, I will encourage you to take the lead, and we will adapt to what you or your child find most helpful, whether that be talking, processing through play, worksheets, or art.
When I am not at work, I enjoy reading, spending time outside, and exploring coffee shops and dog parks with my puppy!
