Welcome to your healing journey! No one can navigate life completely alone, and that’s how I see myself helping you – as your support person to finding a way to live life instead of just pushing through. With all of our daily stress it can be tough to take time for yourself in order to reflect, overcome tough times, and grow, so I see therapy as your time to achieve this and invest in yourself. My vision of the therapeutic relationship is one of trust and unconditional support. I value your views on what you would like to accomplish throughout therapy and try to create goals together that aim to address your needs. Your voice is what matters, and I aim to listen and coach to the ability/level that you feel comfortable with.
I tend to primarily operate from a mode of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), so looking at how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors interact with one another, and exploring how your core beliefs influence your mental health/wellbeing. I can also incorporate additional therapy methods, as needed, to meet your needs. I work with a variety of presenting issues including trauma, grief/loss, major life events/adjustments, depressive and other mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and substance use concerns. I have worked in a variety of different settings, including residential treatment, day treatment, and crisis services, so am able to navigate challenges as they occur, and truly believe in engaging with each client in a holistic approach. I am also fully licensed through the Board of Behavioral Health & Therapy in MN as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), so have completed all training after my Master’s Degree.
I was born and raised in Minnesota and have enjoyed growing up in the Midwest. Animals have always played an important role in my life. I have a deep appreciation for pets and the special bond between people and their pets – truly an important relationship to treasure.
It is tough to trust another human being with your deepest struggles, so please know that I recognize this, and value your desire to let me into your life/space. Please feel free to reach out for an intake if you feel like I might be a good fit for you!
