As we move through life and navigate challenges, we develop strategies to cope and survive. Sometimes these strategies serve us with great success, and other times they just don’t do the job. I recognize that starting therapy is likely not your first line of defense to whatever problems you are facing. Most people come to therapy feeling that they have exhausted all of their options. My hope for the clients that I work with is that they feel less alone in their journey and are reminded of their inherent strengths and abilities. It can be incredibly intimidating to begin the therapeutic process, whether it is your first time in therapy or you are a returning client looking for a new provider. I believe that meaningful therapeutic work begins with a rock-solid therapeutic relationship. We will take time to get to know each other and build trust before diving into the deeper work.
At CARE Counseling, I provide individual and family therapy for children (10+), adolescents, and adults. My approach to therapy is authentic, warm, curious, and nonjudgmental. I view each therapeutic relationship as unique, and I work collaboratively with clients to develop a plan to help them work toward their goals. I graduated from the University of Saint Thomas with a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology, specializing in marriage and family therapy, and I am currently under supervision while I work towards LMFT licensure.
When I am not working, I enjoy reading, expressing myself through movement or art, and having a good laugh with my friends or family. I look forward to learning about your story whenever you are ready.
