Don’t you just hate it when life kicks you in the pants? Sometimes we just get knocked down and it feels impossible to get back up again. But you know what? Life does get better, and seeking counseling is a great step in working towards your “better.” I love how C.S. Lewis puts it, “you can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.”
I believe in a holistic view of people. We are made up of our past and our present. Our families and our friends. Our hopes and our dreams. I believe that counseling allows us the space to work through the jumbled mess of life and find peace and contentment.
My role as a therapist is to provide the space to process. I will be there to listen, encourage, challenge, teach, and support. Your job is to set goals, work towards those goals, and challenge yourself to be the best version of yourself that you can be.
I particularly have expertise in working with people who are between the ages of 20 and older. I have extensive experience in working with anxiousness, depressiveness, OCD tendencies, lack of motivation, discontentment, relationship issues, concentration concerns, struggles with anger, and even traumatic memories.
I received my Bachelor’s degree in psychology and family studies at the University of Saint Thomas, and I received my Master’s degree in counseling psychology with an emphasis on clinical mental health at Bethel University. I am a licensed LPCC in Minnesota.
