Life can be full of changes both difficult and easy, some wanted and others unwanted. How we react and adjust to these changes can impact our daily lives. I believe that by providing a safe, non-judgmental environment where you can process your emotions related to these changes, we can work together to allow you to feel heard and understood. I find that everyone has their own perspective on life and story to tell, and together we can help you to express yours and work towards the changes you may want to create. I understand that everyone is unique and so I work collaboratively with each person to understand their story and find an approach that makes sense for you.
I have experience working with people who have experienced anxiety/depression and helping them to process their emotions in a safe space. I like to allow people to explore their stories and work collaboratively with them to help them reach the goals they want to get out of therapy. I enjoy working with couples and individuals and have experience working with conflict within relationships. I work together with couples to map out their conflict cycles and help them develop new skills that can help each partner be heard and understood.
I have a background and expertise in adoption that allows me to understand that this process can be emotional for both the adoptive and birth families. I work to meet these individuals where they are at in their adoption journey and help them to process their emotions related to adoption, as well as the grieving that comes along with it.
