CARE Counseling is a clinic focused on “Building a Community to Strengthen the Community.” We focus on the training and development of our team so that CARE’s clinicians are grounded and supported to provide the best possible services for the community. CARE does this by offering great benefits, high quality training, supervision, consultation, culture and community.   

CEUs + Grand Rounds Training

CARE provides two+ monthly Grand Round Trainings by internal, local, and national experts. These live high-quality trainings are available to all clinical team members and approved for 25+ continuing education hours (CEs) annually. Speaker topics have included: culturally responsive care, evidence-based approaches, working with co-occurring substance use and mental health concerns, trauma-informed care, ethical decision-making, and practitioner resiliency.

Consistent, Monthly Clinical Feedback

At CARE, we understand the importance of continuous improvement and personal growth. That’s why we offer consistent monthly clinical feedback as a unique employee benefit. We believe that regular, constructive feedback is instrumental in helping our team members reach their full potential while also ensuring exceptional clinical care. Through monthly feedback sessions, clinicians have the opportunity to receive guidance, celebrate their accomplishments, and constructive suggestions for improvement in a timely manner. This approach not only enhances job satisfaction but also empowers our team members to make immediate adjustments and excel in their roles.

DEI

Our DEI Team continues to focus and refine internal training on responsiveness, cultural considerations, intersectionality, pluralism, and identity across all departments. One example of our DEI initiatives include monthly Lunch-n-Learns to promote growth, learning, belonging, and increased humility across the team. CARE More is a non-profit community DEI initiative created by CARE Counseling for the purpose of creating systemic change within the mental health community.

Leadership Academy Series

CARE Leadership Training Series elevates leaders in the organization and cultivate authentic, intentional, and exceptional leaders to positively impact the mental health field.  CARE Counseling’s leadership training supports emerging leaders in learning the fundamentals of management, effective communication strategies, personal branding and skills to effectively lead a team.

Loan Forgiveness

If awarded by the Minnesota Loan Forgiveness Program (MNLFP), the employee could receive up to ~11k in loan forgiveness annually for up to 4 years, for a total of ~$44k (double that for doctoral level employee).  Additional details below.

Licensing Requirements: Independently licensed and practicing unsupervised or will be by fall of the next year (LADC, LP, LPCC, LMFT, LICSW, NP). The provider would need to continue operating under the same license.

Minimum service obligation: Serve 3 years minimum/4 years maximum; provider will be required to repay the total amount paid plus interest if minimum service is not fulfilled.

Timing: Applicants are accepted every fall, and awards are offered by the beginning of the next year. Recipients begin their service obligation no later than March 31 following selection.

Potential MNLFP Awards:

– LICSW’s, LMFT’s, and LPCC’s could receive $11,000/year for 4 years = $44,000 total!

– Psychiatric NP’s could receive $14,000/year = $56,000 total!

– Doctoral LP’s could receive $28,000/year = $112,000 total!

Service requirements: Full-time employment (at least 30 hours per week) for at least 45 weeks per year and provide service to at least 25% public program participants (i.e. medical assistance).

Merit-based raises are a valuable employee benefit at CARE. We believe in recognizing and rewarding exceptional performance, and our merit-based raise system is a testament to that commitment. Instead of a one-size-fits-all approach, we evaluate each employee’s contributions, skills, and achievements, and those who consistently excel in their roles receive salary increases commensurate with their performance.

Paid Time Off

CARE provides a comprehensive PTO (Paid Time Off) benefits package for both full-time and part-time employees. At CARE, we understand the importance of work-life balance and recognize that employees have diverse needs. Full-time employees are entitled to a PTO allowance, which includes paid vacation days, personal days, and holidays, allowing them to recharge, spend time with loved ones, and take care of personal matters. Part-time employees also have access to PTO benefits, albeit on a pro-rated basis.

TRAINING

CARE focuses on the training, development, and sustainability of the team so that CARE’s clinicians are grounded and supported to provide high quality evidence-based services for the community. All of our training and training curriculums are included for our team at no cost to the provider. Learn more about our training program here.

Supervision (Individual and Group)

CARE provides weekly, one-hour trainings for all pre-licensed and licensed clinicians that are approved for 45+ CEs annually. The 12-month curriculum consists of foundational topics related to outpatient therapy to support learning on how to be exceptional across a variety of modalities and interventions. Each month the trainings focus on treating the whole person and taking into consideration the biopsychosocial and cultural factors that are contributing to a client’s mental health concerns. In addition to the Pre-Independently Licensed Therapist (PILT) training, PILTs also receive weekly individual supervision and weekly group consultation.

Supervision Training

CARE provides weekly, one-hour supervision trainings for independently licensed clinicians that are board-approved for 50 supervision CEs annually. Learn more about the program here.

Quarterly Bonuses

Clinicians receive extra money for meeting quota for a quarter (100%) or exceeding quota. Bonuses are paid up to 30 days after the close of the quarter.
