Life can be so rewarding and so tough at the same time. It can feel like you’re on top of the world one day and the next is a struggle to get out of bed. Every person holds inherit strength and value in this world, deserving to be seen, listened to and understood. I believe that people just need a space where they can slow down, process, and heal from all of the stressors that life throws. My role as your therapist is to listen actively and empathetically and to support your efforts toward better connection and growth. Your role is to be open to shifting your perspectives and potentially changing some behaviors. Let’s work together to line up your values with your daily life.
As a counselor, I operate from a client centered and collaborative approach. I want to work with each individual, working together to highlight their strengths and potential, and build skills to cope with stressors, current and future. I have experience working with children as young as 6, adolescents, and adults. I have worked with the school system and with families who have faced trauma.
I graduated from Bethel University with my masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I am currently under supervision while working towards clinical licensure. My therapy is informed by cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy, gestalt therapy and motivational interviewing.
I grew up in northwestern Minnesota and love to spend as much time as possible outside (when the weather allows it). When I am not practicing therapy I can be found cooking and baking or doing some sort of physical activity.
