Sometimes that little problem is just a glitch. Maybe it is just a temporary part of child development, life transition, or stress at work. If that glitch is trying to become a bigger problem, it may be time to explore some perspectives and solutions. I am here to support you as you nurture your life in order to create space for growth of all things life giving, while working through the obstacles that seem to hinder.
At CARE Counseling, my focus is providing therapy services to children and their families ages 3-12, those experiencing life transitions, individuals with disabilities, and adults experiencing symptoms of compassion fatigue, burnout, or secondary traumatic stress. I also have experience working with highly mobile families and children and adults who have experienced community violence or other trauma stressors. I am a believer in humanity’s ability to create positive change when provided with time and support.
I am a person centered therapist. I want to hear about your beliefs, culture, spirituality, family systems, experiences, and what you consider to be wellness. Learning more about your perspective, helps inform implementation of play therapy, mind body practices, cognitive behavioral therapy and trauma informed therapy strategies. Providing information regarding how the brain and body are connected to social emotional wellness is also a part of my practice.
I graduated with a Master of Social Work from the University of St. Thomas/College of St. Catherine. At the time, I was utilizing my music therapy undergraduate degree providing music therapy services to children in special education programming. I continued to work in the schools as a school social worker. The wholistic approach of creative arts therapies continues to inform my work engaging mind and body. Beyond CARE Counseling I enjoy hiking with my family, youth sports and music, and baking. I look forward to collaborating with you at CARE Counseling to create more space for healing, growth, and appreciation of life.
