Simply put, everyone can benefit from seeking therapy at some point in their life. This includes you! You deserve a non-judgmental space to be fully seen and heard by another human who is committed to walking alongside you on this journey. A designated time where you can process difficult experiences and emotions, explore patterns in your thoughts and behaviors and work on making any desired changes toward growth and healing. I am a firm believer that you are doing the best you can at this moment and you may already hold the answers- even if it doesn’t feel that way. My role is to assist in guiding you through the stuckness and to help you gain more insight and clarity into your own life experiences. You don’t have to do it alone.
I work closely with my clients to foster a therapeutic relationship that feels safe, affirming, compassionate, and collaborative. There is no “cookie cutter” way to do therapy because no therapeutic relationship looks the same. Essentially this means I tailor different modalities and approaches to what feels most effective for you and our work together which may include behavioral therapies such as DBT and ACT, attachment theory, person-centered, Gestalt, and concepts from Internal Family Systems (IFS), just to name a few. I am also basic trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) which is an evidence-based, rapid eye movement therapy for the treatment of PTSD and traumatic experiences. It can be utilized to treat anxiety, phobias, depression, grief, self-esteem, disordered eating, and other presenting problems. ART helps change the way distressing images are stored in the brain, and clients may find relief from strong emotional or physical reactions in as little as 1-5 sessions.
Outside of my therapy practice, I enjoy spending quality time with my loved ones, thrifting, reading, taking walks while listening to a good podcast, and continuing my quest to find the best local brunch spots in the Twin Cities.
