Welcome! My name is Susie Halverson (she/her), and I am a graduate student in the MFT program at UW-Stout. I am passionate about helping people – individuals, couples, and families – navigate life’s challenges. My therapeutic approach is empathic, compassionate, and often humorous, and after a long career in the restaurant business, I believe in the power of hospitality in all its forms. I work with various mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, self-esteem, grief and loss, trauma, and relationship issues. Areas of particular interest include women’s issues such as endometriosis, infertility, menopause, middle age, aging families, and adult children as caregivers. I believe hospitality is more than just providing a warm and welcoming space, it is about creating an atmosphere of acceptance, inclusiveness, respect, and openness. I strive to embody these values in my client interactions and believe that a solid therapeutic relationship is essential to healing. My therapeutic approach is focused on your strengths, and I incorporate solution-focused therapy techniques, internal family systems, and the polyvagal theory.
