I’m dedicated to nurturing collaborative and trusting relationships via telehealth to help you navigate life transitions, manage difficulties, meet goals and recharge resilience.
I’ve joined the Care Counseling team because I offer empathetic, trauma-informed care for behavior change in people 16 – 80+ supported by advanced training in: Addictions / Gender-Responsive Recovery (Harm Reduction and abstinence-based); Disabilities Rehabilitation; Chronic Illness and Co-Occurring Disorders; Career / Finance; Veterans / Military Transition; Depression / Anxiety / Trauma / Abuse; Women’s Issues; Eating Disorders; and Parenting / Adoption including Transracial.
My core skills as a therapist are first, being a deep listener who offers feedback respectfully, with permission. And second, I help people who feel overwhelmed learn skills so they can feel hopeful and “see the forest for the trees.” With help, when things seem too complex, we humans are capable of learning skills to create peace and organization within our lives on our own terms.
In the nonjudgmental, virtual space we’ll create, I invite you to share your needs or feelings related to telehealth therapy—or to ask questions about telehealth. I have more than 15 years’ experience developing relationships via virtual platforms, and I also look forward to learning new insights from you, too.
I am honored when you share your story in our sessions. To learn about you and help meet your goals, I draw upon evidence-based therapies that include clinical Motivational Interviewing, Relational-Cultural Therapy, and psychodynamic therapy / Interpersonal Psychotherapy. To help you build coping and life-transition skills, we may choose evidence-based exercises from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
To enrich our work together, I invite you to share in our sessions your culture, interests and passions. Let me start with mine: I love cats, music, Asian dramas, snowy days and the ocean. I am an adoptive parent within a transracial / transcultural family and am from an extended immigrant family. I work with young people through older adults from diverse identities and intersectionalities and enjoy working with people who are immigrants, and people for whom English is not a first language. I serve and support the LGBTQIA+ community including those exploring gender or who are transgender. A daughter and sister of veterans, with four years’ experience counseling military-connected individuals, I am especially dedicated to serving military, veterans and their families.
Please reach out if I can be of service to you.
