Life, at its best, is a beautiful series of complications. However, these beautiful complications can quickly become overwhelming or even painful. I aim to holistically understand these experiences, the beautiful and not so beautiful and come along side you in your journey to heal. I view my role as therapist as helper – helping create space, hold distress, and finding ways to authentically move forward. I have experience working with adolescents through early adulthood across multiple lifespan adjustments as well as experiences with anxiety, depression, relational challenges, and sense of self/identity. I often approach therapy from a psychodynamic perspective, meaning I believe aspects of our past inform our present. However, I equally recognize the needs of the present and often include Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) to manage the pain of those beautiful complications. Above all else, I approach therapy as a unique opportunity to build an empathic relationship that allows an individual to release their pain in hopes to eventually make sense of it and move into a meaningful life. Life may be complicated but bring the mess and let’s find the beauty.
