I am a firm believer that most people don’t get as much love as they need in this life from the people around them, so it is my goal to host a space for you where you are honored, appreciated, and valued, and where you are able to be convinced of your own self-worth. Whatever you are going through, there is hope and healing readily available if you are willing and open to receiving it. I can help show you how!
Here are a few things about my style that may be helpful for you to know as you are assessing for a good fit. I highly value authenticity, so I am always aiming to be genuine and down-to-earth, and I am the first to admit that I am not a perfect person! I also have a mind that is continually admiring the beautiful qualities I see in other people, so you will find me to be a warm and empathetic ally as I cheer you on. Finally, if something ever tickles your funnybone while you are meeting with me, I will be delighted to join in on the humor…I still believe it’s true that sometimes laughter is the best medicine!
My degrees are from The University of St.Thomas (B.A.) and St. Cloud State University (M.S.). I have worked in the field of mental health for over ten years. My therapeutic approach is primarily person-centered and cognitive-behavioral, along with some elements of DBT and expressive therapy. I also love to offer Christian counseling when it is requested. I have a great deal of experience working with adolescents and their families, so if you are a young person, you are welcome here!
When I am not working, I can often be found practicing my SKOL chant (Go Vikings!!!), baking, volunteering, and enjoying time with my family.
